A guide to the rebozo
What is the rebozo?
The rebozo is a traditional Mexican scarf used for centuries in pregnancy, postpartum, and daily life. It’s woven with care and used for gentle massage, support, and ceremonial healing.
Who offers these treatments?
I’m Andréa de Keijzer—a Mexican-born doula, kinesiologist, and co-founder of Collective Rebozo. With over 10 years of training under traditional Mexican midwives and doulas, I offer rebozo treatments and ceremonies that blend ancestral wisdom with modern care. As a mother and passionate advocate for holistic healing, I create safe, nurturing spaces for pregnancy, postpartum, and life’s transitions.
Where are rebozo treatments offered?
In the comfort of your own home—because rest and ease matter most, especially in late pregnancy or early postpartum. I bring everything needed to create a peaceful, healing space for you, so you can fully relax without the stress of travel. Serving Toronto and surrounding areas.
Can I try it if I’ve never given birth (or don’t plan to)?
Absolutely! The rebozo treatments benefits—stress relief, tension release, and emotional grounding—are for every body, at any age.
What are the benefits of the rebozo during pregnancy?
Eases Aches & Tension – Gentle sifting motions relieve back/hip pain and help baby settle into optimal position.
Deep Relaxation – The rhythmic rocking mimics womb-like comfort, reducing stress and anxiety.
Supports Bonding – Partners can learn simple techniques to participate in prenatal care and skills for birth.
Prepares the Body and Soul for Birth – Helps you connect with baby, encourages pelvic flexibility.
What are the benefits for after birth?
Postpartum Comfort – Eases muscle tension from labor, breastfeeding and carrying your newborn.
Restores Core & Pelvic Stability – Wrapping techniques gently realign the hips and abdomen.
Nurtures the Nervous System – Calms the mind and body during the vulnerable postpartum phase.
Ceremonial Healing – The "closing the bones" ritual honours your journey and supports emotional release and integration, especially after a difficult or traumatic birth.

What our clients say…
“The first time I saw a photo of the rebozo ceremony—someone gently wrapped in cloth—I thought to myself: this must feel magnificent. Exactly what the body and soul long for after the immense journey of bringing a new human into the world. Every element of the ritual seemed to offer a deep, nourishing pleasure—one that leaves you feeling reborn, stronger, and full of joy.”

“I received the prenatal rebozo treatment and absolutely loved it! It helped me prepare mentally and physically for childbirth, while deepening my connection to myself.
What stood out most was the listening, warmth, and kindness. I felt fully welcomed in the richness of my experience. Their gentle, clear approach to consent before any touch fostered a deep sense of safety and trust.
The blend of conversation, guidance, massage, singing, and the comforting embrace of the rebozos was incredibly soothing.”

“I’m so grateful I received the postpartum ritual. I wish I had done it sooner—but I’ve come to realize it’s never too late. It helped me reconnect with and find peace in my birth story.
I truly needed that gentleness, warmth, and deep listening. I did it for myself, for my daughter, my unborn baby, and also, for my partner.”
