CLOSING OF THE BONES
CEREMONY

A traditional Mexican ceremony rooted in ancestral wisdom, this ritual offers a sacred space to gently close life cycles and honour life’s transitions.

Today, this ceremony is offered as a rite of passage for anyone wishing to honour a meaningful or important shift in their life. It may be received during times of change such as birth, marriage, separation, grieving, adoption, perinatal loss, abortion, miscarriage, anniversary, relocation, or a career transition.

It is also a way to acknowledge transitions related to the body and identity:
– The arrival or ending of a menstrual cycle
– A new phase of motherhood / parenthood
– The process of gender transition
– Any threshold moment where something within has changed

This ritual invites us to slow down, be witnessed, and feel held—through care, presence, and the ceremonial embrace of the rebozo.

Location

This is a domestic, portable, and accessible ceremony—offered in the comfort of your own space. We come to you, so there’s no need to drive or take public transit afterward. You can stay in your cocoon, rest deeply, and allow the experience to integrate gently, without rushing back into the outside world, especially important if you are in the postpartum period.

This in-home setting supports softness, safety, and presence. It honors your rhythms and allows the ceremony to unfold in a familiar and nurturing environment.

Reciprocity & Ecology

We are committed to practices of reciprocity and care. For each ceremony offered, we give back by supporting community-based projects with traditional midwives in Mexico.

We also do our best to work in harmony with the Earth. We use organic plants and foods. Our rebozos are handmade with 100% natural fibers by the López Montaño / Bazán Chávez family, and are sourced through fair trade.
