CO-FUNDERS
My name is Angie Yañez. I'm originally from Mexico and have lived in Montreal since 2011. I'm trained as an educational psychologist and have devoted my life to working with ancestral knowledge and sacred practices.
I was trained as a birth and postpartum doula by traditional midwives and midwife-women, who passed on to me the medicines of the rebozo, temazcal humano, cacao, plant energy, and sobada maya—a traditional abdominal massage.
My training also includes Ancestral Gynecology, Natural Fertility, Perinatal Aromatherapy, and the Medicinal Wheel of plants and female hormones. For over 20 years, I have worked with Bach flowers to support emotional healing.
I am also a ritualist trained through the Ho Rites de Passage school, where I accompany women through key life transitions—fertility, birth, postpartum, breastfeeding, grief, menopause, and beyond.
I am honored to offer abdominal therapy based on the lineage of Dr. Rosita Arvigo, rooted in the traditional Mayan wisdom of Don Elijio Panti.
My name is Andréa de Keijzer. I attended my first birth in 2013 and was immediately drawn to the profound mystery and beauty of that moment. Since then, I’ve been dedicated to learning and growing as a birth and postnatal doula.
I was born in Mexico and raised in Costa Rica and Canada, though my connection to Mexican traditions has always remained strong. Over the years, I’ve had the honour of learning from midwives and doulas deeply rooted in traditional Mexican medicine and midwifery.
My work weaves together warmth, movement, creativity, and ceremony. With a background in contemporary dance and kinesiology, I co-directed the dance company Je suis Julio (now Le Radeau) for a decade. I'm also a photographer, focusing on pregnancy, birth, newborns, and weddings.
I’m a mother to two earth-side children—my son, born in 2020 - 80% homebirth and 20% caesarean, and my daughter, free birthed at home in 2024. I’m also mother to four little ones who passed on before birth—my air babies.
ADMINISTRATIVE
SUPPORT
My name is Vero Marsan. I’m the Administrative Assistant and Community Manager for the Rebozo Collective. I’ve worked with families and perinatal professionals for over 20 years in roles ranging from educator and family support worker to administrative officer in a birthing center.
Since 2021, I’ve been supporting the Rebozo Collective with administration and communications. I also co-founded Une vie formidable, where I develop web-based training for birth and parenting professionals. As a mother of two, I offer postnatal coaching rooted in care and lived experience.
I first traveled to Mexico in 2000 and return whenever I can to maintain the deep relationships I’ve built there. My love for Mexican culture—and fluency in Spanish—helps me share Angie and Andréa’s work with care and fidelity.
